Williams dares to dream at Chase to Investec Cup for Ladies

Kim Williams13 February 2014 – South Africa’s Kim Williams enjoyed the perfect start to her pro career when she hit the front at the Sunshine Ladies Tour’s first Chase to the Investec Cup for Ladies at Houghton Golf Club on Thursday. The 27-year-old overcame a wobbly start to close with a two-under-par 70 and a one shot edge over compatriots Monique Smit and Caryn Louw, and Ladies European Tour (LET) campaigner Holly Aitchison from England.


Bregman shares third at Volvik Ladies Masters

Stacy-Lee Bregman9 February 2014 – South Africa’s Stacy Lee Bregman tied for third with Sweden’s Camilla Lennarth at the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters, where American Cheyenne Woods captured her first pro title with a two shot victory at RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland.
Bregman dropped two shots on her outward nine, but eliminated the damage with gains at the 14th, 16th and 18th holes to close with a 72. Lennarth, meanwhile, came home in three under 69 to join Bregman on 12-under-par 280.


Broken club aids Bregman to Volvik Ladies Masters lead

7 FeStacy-Lee Bregmanbruary 2014 – Stacy-Lee Bregman rose above an unexpected handicap to grab a share of the second round lead at the VOLVIK RACV Ladies Masters in Australia.

The South African was forced to navigate the par-73 layout at the RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland with just 13 clubs in her bag after snapping her eight-iron at the opening hole when she hit a tee, but this only inspired a flawless performance from the Johannesburg.


Pace, Bregman quick off the pace in Australia

Lee-Anne PaceLadies European Tour champion Lee-Anne Pace and compatriot Stace-Lee Bregman made a fast start down under to finish within striking distance in the first round of the VOLVIK RACV Ladies Masters.

The South African duo returned a pair of four-under-par 69s at the RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland to tie for third alongside Valentine Derrey from France, Canada’s Lorrie Kane and Cheyne Woods from the United States.


Pace, Simon join SA challenge in Australia

Lee-Anne Pace4 February 2014 - Ladies European Tour champions Lee-Anne Pace and Ashleigh Simon will launch their 2014 season in Australia this week, where they will spearhead the South African challenge at the VOLVIK RACV Ladies Masters in Queensland.

Having missed last week’s season-opener in New Zealand, Pace and Simon will join compatriots Stacy-Lee Bregman and Connie Chen in the €200,000 LET event at the RACV Royal Pines Resort.

With the launch of the WPGA’s new Sunshine Ladies Tour just weeks away, top professionals Lee-Anne Pace, Tandi von Ruben, Laurette Maritz, Morgana Robbertze and Monique Smit, and LET rookies Kim Williams and Nicole Garcia, are among the country’s leading lights, set to fly the flag for South Africa against a host of international competitors.


SA pros give Ladies Sunshine Tour a huge thumb-up

Ulrika van Niekerk19 December 2013 – With the 2013 season all but wrapped up, the country’s top professionals are back on home soil for some much deserved R&R and the ladies that proudly fly the flag for South Africa abroad have come out in strong support for the new Sunshine Ladies Tour, which kicks off in February 2014.

The Sunshine Ladies Tour will comprise of six 36-hole tournaments that will carry a R100,000 purse each.

Sun International, SuperSport and Dimension Data will sponsor one tournament each, while Investec will sponsor three events, as well as the inaugural Chase to the Investec Cup for Ladies.

An order of merit will be run throughout the series of qualifiers to determine the top 10 professionals that will compete in the R300 000 Chase to the Investec Cup for Ladies.


LET joy for Williams and Dlamini

Kim and Nobuhle18 December 2013 – Africa’s numbers on the Ladies European Tour got a significant boost as South Africa’s two top ranked amateurs, Kim Williams and Nobuhle Dlamini from Swaziland, as well as Bonita Bredenhann from Namibia clinched their full cards for 2014 in the final round of the Lalla Aicha Tour School Final Qualifying in Morocco on Wednesday.
