The 2024 Tournament took place at San Lameer on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast on 5th and 6th September.
Established and sanctioned by the Women’s PGA of South Africa in 1996, and second only to the WPGA’s flagship event, the South African Women’s Open which was founded in 1988.
The inaugural event in 1996 was won by South Africa’s legendary golfer, Sally Little, a two-time LPGA major winner. South Africa’s other major winner and Olympian, Ashleigh Buhai (nee Simon), won the event in 2006 whilst still an amateur, the year before she turned professional. This event was last hosted in 2020 when Standard Bank became the Naming Rights Sponsor for the very first time.
This event marks a triumphant return to the South Coast in KZN, a region renowned as the home of women’s golf having previously hosted both the SA Women’s Open and the SA Women’s Masters and was sponsored by Lifestyle Property Developers for the first time.
